Baptisms

At Perkinsville, we believe that baptism is the first step of obedience for believers, for it is a public declaration of faith. It is a testament to 1) the believer's faith in the resurrection of Christ, 2) the believer's death to sin and burial of their old life, and 3) the believer's resurrection of walking in a new life with Christ. While the act of baptism itself does not make someone a Christian, every Christian is commanded to follow the example of Christ and walk in obedience and be baptized.

Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.
Romans 6:3-5
